January 1984, Shiva Weds Parvati A traditional wedding of Shiva and Parvati is performed in Adivarapupeta during Mahashivaratri of 1984. The engaged gods in the form of idols are paraded to the sites where Shivabalayogi sat in tapas and through the village street, then the wedding itself is performed as the night falls that is Mahashivaratri. After the ceremony, bhajans continue throughout the night.
