Vibhuti

“Swamiji's guru has asked him to bring people into the line of bhakti [devotion].  For that the first thing is that Swamiji has to distribute vibhuti [blessed ash].  People have lots of problems in the material world and with their health.  To be able to serve them, Swamiji distributes blessed vibhuti which will cure them of their diseases and solve all their problems.”

“Vibhuti contains the power to transmit power to meditate.  The power goes through the vibhuti.  Swamiji will let you know.  The atom bomb is very small, yet it can cause great devastation.”

From the printed “Meditation Instructions” that Shivabalayogi gave after initiation into dhyana meditation:

“The vibhuti given to you is sacred.  It is not to be placed on the ground without being in some sort of container.  When sitting for meditation, apply some vibhuti between your eyebrows and fix your concentration there with the eyes closed.”
