Shivabalayogi’s Hands

“All the nerves, muscles, everything became stiff in the position in which Swamiji was sitting.  He was sitting in a graveyard during tapas.  Rats would eat the flesh while he was in samadhi and unconscious of the body.  Flesh started growing between the palms and fingers because the hands were clasped together for such a long time.  You can see these effects on the body today.”

“Three months after he started the tapas, his hands became like that.  Lots of people offered to repair his hands but he said no.  If he remains like that, you will understand what’s the meaning of tapas.  If he gets them operated and becomes like you, people won’t believe him.  They’ll think that he’s a crook.”
