Astrology

“The nadis were written on leaves because at that time they did not have paper.  In the nadis can be found the history of Christ.  Just like you are now recording what Swamiji is saying, at that time the maharishis and sages sat around in a meeting like this and they wrote down what was going to happen in the future.  People like you asked questions, the sages answered, and the answers were written down.  That has become the nadis.”

“If the astrology is done properly, then you get proper guidance.  But if you do it improperly, then you don’t get it right.  Let us say astrology predicts that there is going to be an accident at such and such a time at such and such a place for a person.  If he uses intellect and tries to avoid that place and accident, he is saved.  If he doesn’t do that, then he gets affected and killed by the accident.  That’s the role astrology plays.”

“You have the power to change your destiny.  You can avoid the danger that astrology predicts by using your intellect [buddhi].  Let us say an astrologer tells you that you might be in a car accident.  While driving the car, if you are very conscious and if you use your intelligence then you can avoid the accident.  If you think the accident is going to happen anyway and you close your eyes and go, then you will have the accident.”
