Devotees visit and do puja (worship) at the small shrine that marks the place
where Shivabalayogi was first made to sit for his twelve-year tapas.
The place is by an irrigation canal from the Godavari River that runs by the
north side of Adivarapupeta village. It was here on August 7, 1949, that
Shiva, God in the form of a yogi, appeared to fourteen-year-old Sathyaraju, made
him sit, and touched him on the third eye.
Sathyaraju immediately passed into samadhi (enlightenment) and he meditated in
that state for the next twelve years.
