Inside
the temple at the Shivabalayogi ashram in Adivarapupeta, just to the left of the
inner sanctuary.
The statue of Shivabalayogi was located on his Samadhi (tomb) until replaced by
the marble statue. It is on a small wooden bench that served as
Shivabalayogi's asana (seat) during his twelve-year tapas. Behind and over
the statue is the brass, twelve-headed cobra -- a symbol of protection.
This is the same bass cobra figure that can be seen in photographs of
Shivabalayogi taken during his twelve-year tapas.
Photo taken in January, 2006.
